Exhibits & Collections
The Sam J. Ervin, Jr. Library & Museum features several collections open to the general public:
- Artifacts Collection
Visitors can browse Senator Ervin’s professional and family memorabilia, original cartoons from the Watergate era, awards, and other materials collected by him during his many years of service. - The Senator Sam J. Ervin, Junior Research Collection
Consisting of nearly 10,000 books, pieces of correspondence, photos, and public and private documents, the Collection represents the personal, professional, and intellectual life of the Senator. - The Dr. Jean C. Ervin Mark Twain Collection
Sam Ervin’s youngest sister has collected over 350 books including first editions, along with a vast array of Twain collectibles. These are available for browsing and research. - The Dr. Stanley Bach Documents Collection
The Bach Collection consists of documents of the Watergate Era, including hearings and other publications of the Senate Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities. This large collection of documents is available for viewing and research for visitors to the Ervin Library and Museum. Limited scanning and/or photocopying is available for some of these documents.
